4.5.10 Mario and Helen Ponce

We still have a great group of ladies who come along each week to hear the word. There are around 40 of them , many of them are young women. Pray especially for a young mother of six. Tanya phoned me up just over a week ago crying .She had just been given a 18 year sentence. She was devastated. She said please don't hang up I've got bad thoughts. I don't want to live any longer. At that moment you just have to cry to the Lord for the right words and the right verses to give her. When we went on the Friday afternoon she was a lot calmer. Her mother looks after her children because her husband is in prison as well. He got 10 years. There are so many sad cases.

Two weeks ago we had other seven Baptisms. An elderly lady, four young girls and two young fellows. This year alone 29 have been baptised. Souls are being saved every week, it really is wonderful to see God work in so many lives.

We really need to get an extension done in the church. Tonight we had discipleship class We had 20 of the new believers. We are doing the Emmaus Course. What the Bible teaches. We meet every Monday night in the church.

Tuesday night we have the leaders of the young people in our home, They are all mature Christians and all seeking God's will for their future. Three have gone to Word of Life in Argentina, five wanted to go but two decided to wait until next year God willing. It's a lot for the church to support.

We are in the process of buying new comfortable seats for the church. The response was great on Sunday. A block of three seats cost 650 Bolivianos. The elders and deacons bought a block first and then many families responded. We got enough to seat 200 people. It was amazing just on one day. One of our elders is a comic, He brought a sample that he had bought and took three of our elderly believers and sat them in the middle of the floor. We had a good laugh. They were all deaf and when he asked if they were comfortable none of them responded. They hadn't a clue what was happening.

We are hoping to be in Scotland this year God Willing .We are booked for the Missionary home in Hamilton from the beginning of Sept until the end of December.

2.5.10 Elaine Robson.

The past seven weeks have been really busy with Team Evangelism and Field Term.  We went to Walsall, Birmingham for a week to work with a Christian Organisation called WS3 which is involved with community projects like kids/youth/senior citizens clubs.  It was a real stretch and I really enjoyed it.  The following two weeks were in Newcastle with Andy and Claire Gibson.  Again, that was a great experience and loved shadowing Andy and Claire and learning more about full time church work.

It was lovely to have one of my students from GIS, Rae Scott, over the Easter holidays.  We road tripped up the beautiful West coast and enjoyed catching up on all our news.  She is currently at a Bible college in Greece before she heads back to the US for uni so it was good to compare notes on what we've been learning this year!

I've just returned from a further two weeks in Walsall where we started a Youth Alpha in one of the youth clubs.  It was exciting to see the Lord work in these young peoples lives.  I'd really appreciate your prayers for them.  This was the first time that Christian teaching had been introduced to their youth time and we trust that it will continue, and even enable some of them to attend a summer Christian camp.

So that's all my news.  We only have seven more weeks of GLO left this year and the assignments are over flowing.  I'd really appreciate your prayers that I would have the focus and perseverance to keep going through this very busy time.
