Pakistan Emergency. 1 September 2010
| Emergency Relief Fund |
The situation of severe flooding that has hit Pakistan.and its aftermath are a matter for continuing prayer. Latest UN figures indicate that approximately 1,600 people have died and over 14 million have been affected by “the worst monsoon related floods in living memory”.Although we do not have mission workers in the affected areas, we have been able to send a gift of £7,000 and Echoes have sent £17,000 to assist in the relief operations and anticipate sending further monies in the coming weeks. We are awaiting further information on the plans by our contacts in the country to use the funds which we might be able to send for medium and longer term support. We include two reports from the stricken area sent to us around 18 August
