A landlocked country located in southern Africa. While Zambia, in contrast to her neighbours, has only known peace, the country has failed economically and has run up large foreign debts. The work of David Livingstone, Fred Arnot and many other pioneering missionaries in the 19th century has been followed-up in the 20th century, so that Zambia has been Christianised and even declared a Christian country by the current President. However, many who would call themselves Christians continue to hold onto and mix traditional animist beliefs with Biblical truth.
Present Work
There are about 115 brethren missionaries in the country who concentrate their work in three main areas: North-West Province, Luapula Province and the Copperbelt Province. Newer work is based in Northern and Eastern Provinces.
